Managing Access to Service Providers in Federated Identity Environments: A Case Study in a Cloud Storage Service

© 2015 IEEE. Currently the diversity of services, which are adhering to Identity Federation, has raised new challenges in the area. Increasingly, service providers need to control the access to their resources by users from the federation as, even though the user is authenticated by the federation, its access to resources cannot be taken for granted. Each Service Provider (SP) of a federation implements their own access control mechanism. Moreover, SPs might need to allow different access control granularity. For instance, all users from a particular Identity Provider (IdP) may access the resources due to some financial agreement. On the other hand, it might be the case that only specific users, or groups of users, have access to the resources. This paper proposes a solution to this problem through a hierarchical authorization system. Our approach, which can be customized to different SPs, allows the SP administrator to manage which IdPs, or users, have access to the provided resources. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of our approach, we present a case study in the context of a cloud storage solution

Uma Revisão Sistemática da Literatura sobre Sistemas de Recomendação Educacional

Introdução: Sistemas de Recomendação Educacional têm atraído a atenção dos pesquisadores que se preocupam em investigar e trazer métodos que facilite e contribua no ambiente educacional. Objetivos: analisar o panorama atual das pesquisas e experiências práticas em relação aos sistemas de recomendações educacionais. Métodos: foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura, para integrar os resultados oriundos de diversos estudos publicados anteriormente. Resultados: dos 790 estudos primários, 41 foram incluídos nesse estudo. Estes resultados apresentam que a técnica de filtragem colaborativa é a mais utilizada nos estudos e os recursos educacionais recomendados são variados, tendo destaque para objetos de aprendizagem e os estudos concentram seus resultados no ensino superior

Comprehensive patient care in urgent and emergency situations is essential to guarantee the quality and effectiveness of healthcare. This study presents an integrative review of the literature that explores approaches and strategies to provide this comprehensive care, considering the complexity of these scenarios. Through the analysis of several studies and specialized literature, the main elements that make up comprehensive care for patients in critical situations are identified. These approaches include effective screening, interprofessional communication, application of updated clinical protocols, and consideration of the patient's psychosocial needs. The literature review highlights the importance of training the healthcare team and adequately coordinating resources to ensure comprehensive and effective care for patients in urgencies and emergencies. This study highlights the need for interdisciplinary approaches, well-defined protocols and effective communication between the healthcare team to ensure that all dimensions of the patient's health are considered. Este estudo apresenta uma revisão integrativa da literatura que explora abordagens e estratégias para fornecer essa atenção integral, considerando a complexidade desses cenários. Através da análise de diversos estudos e literatura especializada, identificam-se os principais elementos que compõem a atenção integral ao paciente em situações críticas. Estas abordagens incluem a triagem eficaz, a comunicação interprofissional, a aplicação de protocolos clínicos atualizados e a consideração das necessidades psicossociais do paciente. A revisão bibliográfica destaca a importância da capacitação da equipe de saúde e da coordenação adequada dos recursos para garantir uma atenção integral e eficaz ao paciente em urgências e emergências. O enfrentamento da crise socioambiental demanda a construção de práticas de Educação Ambiental no contexto escolar. Mediante a construção de uma Horta Escolar no Instituto Federal da Paraíba - Campus Catolé do Rocha, o projeto de extensão Semeando Saberes visou contribuir para criação de um espaço educador sustentável, dotado de princípios ecológicos nos aspectos físicos e atitudinais. O trabalho envolveu a produção de biodigestores domésticos, oficinas de reciclagem, atividades de capacitação, plantio coletivo, e distribuição de manuais, alimentos e mudas com a comunidade externa. Essas atividades foram integradas com as disciplinas de Química e Desenho Básico e Técnico do Curso Técnico Integrado em Edificações, associando teoria e prática, visando a sustentabilidade socioambiental

Morbimortality of Pandemic Influenza A H1N1 Infection in Kidney Transplant Recipients Requiring Hospitalization: A Comparative Analysis With Nonimmunocompromised Patients

Background. Clinical and epidemiological data of pandemic influenza A H1N1 infection in solid-organ transplant recipients have been described, but scarce data compare these outcomes with nonimmunocompromised patients.Methods. We retrospectively reviewed and compared the clinical presentation, morbidity, and mortality of all kidney transplant (KT) and nonimmunocompromised (non-KT) patients admitted for at least 12 hr with a diagnosis of pandemic influenza A H1N1 infection in a single hospital complex during the 2009 pandemic.Results. There were 22 patients in the KT group (29.3%) and 53 in the non-KT group (70.7%). the prevalence of diabetes was higher in KT group (27.3% vs. 5.7%) while chronic pulmonary disease was more frequent in non-KT group (34% vs. 9.1%). Clinical and radiological presentations and duration of disease were similar between the two groups. the incidence of acute renal failure was higher among KT patients (40.9% vs. 17%). No differences in the rate of intensive care unit admission (22.7% vs. 22.6%) or hospital mortality (9.1% vs. 7.5%) were observed. for the overall population, poor outcome, defined as intensive care unit admission or death, was associated with in-hospital acquisition (relative risk [RR] = 42.6 [95% confidence interval {95% CI} 2.2-831.9], P = 0.003), symptom onset more than 48 hr (RR = 12.17 [95% CI 1.3-117.2], P = 0.007), and acute renal failure (RR = 11.8 [95% CI 2.9-48.8], P = 0.001). Among KT recipients, in-hospital acquisition was the only covariate associate with poor outcome (RR = 30.0 [95% CI 2.1421.1], P = 0.004).Conclusions.
